"Saw US and WL (missed the opening act); Both played full sets and both were superb. Radio City had a sold-out crowd that stayed for 4 hours. However, some negative reviews prompted me to address a few points of criticism.
Long waits were minimal: Radio City stuck to the scheduled sets of 8-8:30, 8:50-10:15, and 10:35-11:45 perfectly. Set changes allowed for a quick break and a drink.
Dogstar plays fast: It's a mix. At times, he only performed half a song within a medley. His unique style involves delivering lyrics slightly ahead of the band to focus on guitar riffs, resulting in an energetic show, with occasional slower songs.
Dogstar is in tune: Absolutely. While he incorporates dissonant notes and challenging chords, appreciation may vary depending on acoustics.
Dogstar prefers talking to singing: Largely true. He enjoys showcasing guitar skills, improvising melodies, and letting the audience join in on choruses, particularly for covers.
Dogstar's skills are intact: Definitely! He delivered 20 songs and an encore, including a challenging piece by Django Reinhardt. A remarkable feat for any musician.
In conclusion, arriving early may lead to a 3-hour wait for Dogstar, causing understandable frustration. Poor acoustics or a noisy crowd could hinder the full experience. However, in a venue like Radio City with an engaged audience, the show was exceptional.
Alternatively, AK/US alone is worth the price, with a standout performance by Jerry Douglas covering Paul Simon鈥檚 American Tune."
